Ecosystems of Chile

Organization: Ministry of the Environment
What we found: The Ministry of the Environment proposed the production of a national-level report on the conservation status of the terrestrial ecosystems of Chile, as at the time, no such register existed and there were no proposals for ongoing monitoring.
What we did: We participated in the public tender and were awarded the project, which was called “Conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity: classification of the terrestrial ecosystems of Chile according to their conservation status”. Among the findings of our study was that 55% of the country’s ecosystems are currently at risk to a greater or lesser extent.
