Dr. Cecilia Smith
PhD in Ecology from the Universidad de Los Lagos.
Area of research: Her focus is on biodiversity conservation and research to support decision making on the subject. She studies the restoration of forests, in particular the Myrtiselva fernandeziana species which is endemic to Juan Fernández Island, and sclerophyll forest. She is also engaged in ongoing research into plant-animal mutualisms, particularly in relation to pollination and seed dispersion by native species.
